Our Achievements & Impact

Since its creation, MamaCare-Ghana organization has undertaken a number of training workshops for practicing but untrained Traditional Birth Attendants. So far, the organization has trained 250 practicing but untrained Traditional Birth Attendants from about 67 villages in Hohoe municipality, Afadzato South District and South Dayi District. MamaCare-Ghana Organization will continue to work with traditional birth attendants at a community-level to improve referrals in the communities.

Through MamaCare-Ghana programs, over 50,000 people have become more knowledgeable on family Planning, HIV/AIDS and other Sexual Transmitted Infections (STIs).

MamaCare-Ghana organization had organized five workshops for people living with HIV/AIDS in the Hohoe Municipality. The workshop brought about 120 participants together where topics like Stigmatization, discrimination and their rights were discussed. The project was funded by National AIDS Control Program-Ghana (NACP). In addition, the fund establishes an income generating activity for the PLWHA. The project also distributed about 15,000 pieces of condoms to participants.

MamaCare-Ghana has also organized about 30 workshops for community based midwives on Malaria and Diarrhea prevention where participants acquired knowledge on causes of malaria and diarrhea, and prevention. Through this program, about 187 communities based midwives’ capacity has been build. The program also distributed about 890 Insecticide Treated Bed Net for pregnant women and children under five years.

In 2018, MamaCare-Ghana Organization started training Community Health Nurses in Emergency delivery Practices. About 50 Community Health Nurses have received training towards emergency, focus antenatal and post-natal care for a mother and a baby.

MamaCare-Ghana will continue to work with local communities to improve health and rights for women and child in Ghana.

We promote sexual and reproductive health rights for women and children and undertakes activities also in Gender equality, women and children basic rights, women economic rights, women empowerment health and educational infrastructure projects,in the Republic of Ghana.

We are registered with the registrar General’s Department of the Republic of Ghana and obtained a certificate of incorporation of a Company under the Companies Act 1963, Act 179 as a Limited by Guarantee
